With the deepening of the construction of "smart prisons", personnel positioning management systems have become the core technological means to improve regulatory safety and efficiency. However, a successful positioning system is not simply a hardware stack. To ensure the long-term, stable, and reliable operation of the system, the following five key considerations must be carefully considered when planning and deploying.

1、 Safety and reliability come first: system stability is the lifeline
The prison environment is unique, and any technological vulnerability can lead to serious consequences. Therefore, the security and reliability of the system must be given top priority.
7x24 hour uninterrupted operation: The system needs to have extremely high stability, be able to cope with abnormal situations such as power outages and network disconnections, and have redundant backup mechanisms to ensure that it never "drops off".
Anti interference and anti destruction: The system must be able to effectively resist intentional or unintentional signal interference, and have the ability to immediately alarm in case of equipment disconnection, signal shielding, and other situations.
Data security: All positioning data must be encrypted during transmission and storage to prevent data theft or tampering, ensuring high confidentiality of information.
2、 Strict anti dismantling design: Terminal wearing is the foundation of management
Positioning terminals (such as wristbands and badges) are "electronic warning lines" attached to personnel, and their anti tampering ability directly determines the effectiveness of the system.
Durable physical structure: The terminal should be made of high-strength materials, with characteristics such as anti smashing, anti-collision, waterproof, dustproof, etc., to adapt to the complex daily environment inside the prison.
Instant alarm mechanism: It must be equipped with anti disassembly alarm function. Whether forcibly cut, pried, or attempting to block the signal, the system should trigger an audible and visual alarm within seconds and report to the command center.
Human body feature monitoring: The best solution is for the terminal to be able to monitor whether it is in a normal wearing state (such as through body temperature or skin contact), and immediately report if it is illegally detached, eliminating the regulatory loophole of "human environment separation".
3、 Practical technology selection: precise coverage without blind spots
Technology is the means to achieve functionality, and choosing the appropriate combination of positioning technologies is crucial.
Accuracy and scene matching: Different regions have different requirements for positioning accuracy. In indoor areas such as buildings and workshops, centimeter/decimeter level high-precision positioning (such as UWB) may be required; In open areas such as playgrounds and perimeters, meter level positioning (such as RFID, LoRa) may be sufficient. A fusion positioning scheme should be adopted to achieve the best balance between cost and benefit.
Global seamless coverage: The system design must ensure that there are no blind spots or corners in the signal coverage from indoors to outdoors, from above ground to underground, forming a complete "electronic sky network".
Fusion linkage: The positioning system should not be an information island, but must be deeply integrated with existing video surveillance, access control, alarm systems, etc. When the positioning system issues an out of bounds alarm, it should be able to automatically retrieve the surrounding monitoring screen and link with the access control, forming a closed loop of "perception positioning review disposal".
4、 Clear privacy rights and responsibilities: Compliance management is the bottom line
While achieving efficient supervision, it is necessary to strictly comply with laws and regulations, balance regulatory needs with individual rights and interests.
Permission grading management: Strictly set the system access and operation permissions for different levels of management personnel, ensuring that location information is only used by authorized personnel within the authorized scope, and preventing data abuse.
Regional monitoring compliance: Clearly define the monitoring area, usually implementing full coverage positioning in public areas. In special areas involving personal privacy (such as bathrooms and shower rooms), shielding should be carried out through technical means or area existence judgment should be used instead of precise positioning, in order to achieve legal and regulatory management.
5、 Balancing operation and expansion: ensuring long-term development
The value of a system lies in its stable service throughout its entire lifecycle, therefore it needs to have good maintainability and scalability.
Convenient operation and maintenance management: The system should provide a friendly management backend, support remote monitoring of device status, battery level warning, software online upgrades, etc., to reduce the difficulty and cost of daily maintenance.
Powerful scalability: The system architecture should have flexibility and be able to smoothly add new functions (such as behavior big data analysis and intelligent warning) or connect more terminal devices with changes in prison business needs, protecting previous investments and meeting future development needs.
Deploying the prison personnel positioning system is a complex system engineering, which tests not only the progressiveness technology, but also the profound understanding and comprehensive design planning of the prison business scene. Only by firmly grasping the above five precautions can we create a truly "effective, user-friendly, and durable" intelligent supervision platform, and build a solid and reliable technological barrier for the sustained safety and stability of prisons.
